Lithops

My Lithops got super tall and separated. I took them and put them outside in direct sunlight on the South side of my home. I changed their soil to pebbles and peat but their roots were shriveled and brown. I cleaned the roots of any rot and repotted in the new soil…is there any hope of them coming back or are they goners?
I think those plants look really cool. You can fix this. Good job increasing light. Make sure not to touch them. Start only watering them when the top of the plants wrinkle. What they are doing is because they don’t get enough sunlight.
@MimiGreenthumb Can u add a picture so we can see them ?
@Ponytailmom this is the sad demise of my Lithops adventure! As of now I have the one little guy holding on. He was purplish but has gone green again! He is outside, gets full sun for about 2 hours a day and then is in a well lit area the rest of the day. The little orange container beside it has the roots of another that seemed like it might still have some life…I planted it to see if it would come back but so far no luck!
