Rabbit Deterrent?
I never thought I’d be one to shake my fist at a rabbit, but they’re eating all the flowers off of my plants!!! We’ve got a family of cottontails (which are really common basically anywhere in western Washington Suburbs) that have made themselves quite chunky and happy off of not only mine, but other gardeners’ flower beds. I don’t want to put out anything that will potentially injure the rabbits, nor the neighbor’s dogs or kids, but I need to find a solution if I want a bed with ANY color besides green! I’ve already got a “scarecrow” with big, beady, forward-facing eyes, which I heard is supposed to make the rabbits think they’re being hunted and keep away, but after my brand new pretty violet-blue groundcover lasted one night before it was eaten right up, I’m out of ideas that aren’t completely fencing off the area or giving in to feeding them. Any suggestions would be appreciated! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #gardening #FloweringPlants
@MilkNewt try EPIC “rabbit scram”. It’s ok for organic gardens and won’t harm the bunnies, it just deters them from eating their daily 2.5 lb of ground cover 🤣😅
@DreamMachine right?! My neighbor told me about it. I personally love the bunnies, but she hates them.
