propagations

I just picked up this beautiful rhaphidophora decursiva off of marketplace. It has a couple super long vines that I think I want to cut and propagate. Do they do better in water, in a perlite prop box, or in soil? Should I make a bunch of wet sticks or leave it longer? #DragonTailPlant
20ft to light, indirect
10” pot with drainage

For this particular plant, I prefer to water prop, let the roots grow to at least 3-4 inches, and then transfer to soil. You'll improve their chances of rooting if you cut them up into individual pieces, each with one leaf & one node. Trying to propagate longer vines sometimes works, but not always.
Here's a pic I used to show someone else how to propagate a pothos. The slashes are where you make the cuts, and the X's are what you throw out. You only need to leave a very small amount of stem attached on either side of the node, no more than about 1/4". If you leave too much attached it'll likely just end up rotting 😊
@stephonicle yes! familiar with props, just wanted to check for this plant:) thanks for the info
@stephonicle great info. I just used the same technique for my Ruby Necklace (succulent). So glad I can do the same thing for my pothos. Thank you!
@SacredLovevine yep, exactly the same process as propagating other vining plants πŸ€“
@FunDropwort61 Actually the process is a bit different for "string of" succulents! I prefer to lay pieces on top of soil and secure a few nodes using U-shaped pins (the green ones I made out of 20-gauge coated wire, and the plastic orange ones are from Temu). The key for successful root growth is to maintain contact between the nodes and the soil. Second pic shows where I place them, then I push them in all the way and pin down the stems πŸ˜›
@stephonicle hopefully a lot lot of them will root. I sure don’t want to lose them. 🀞
I don't think it's Epipremnum pinnatum. THIS is Epipremnum pinnatum [the Albo form, that is].

It's probably Rhaphidophora decursiva
@Araceae yes, i realized after my post that it’s not what it was listed on fb as, thanks for confirming my suspicion! :))
