How can I fix the leaves curling?!

#BlackVelvetAlocasia
6ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 3 months ago
Hi @SirSquash72 most common reason is underwatering. Also low humidity or recent stress from light or heat or pests. Has the humidity dropped? Is it near a heater? Has the lighting changed? Was it closer to light and moved away? 6 feet to light might not be enough. Check for tiny pests lurking around. You may need a magnifying glass πŸ” to see pests like spider mites or thrips. Most likely it’s underwatered or humidity is too low both are easy to fix. Check the soil to see if it’s very dry, or not absorbing the water πŸ’¦. Is water just pouring through? Greg might suggest a 1/2 cup water but if most of it is pouring through then that’s not gonna be adequate. Soil can get hydrophobic with time. If Taylor’s soil is dry and compact it may be time for fresh soil.
What @MariansOasis said. Also, make sure you're not restricting the petioles with plant Velcro, which can damage the plant. Always secure by the main stem. Also be careful with a plastic pot that fits so snuggly inside the glazed pot. This causes reduced airflow between the two pots and can prevent the soil from properly drying out between waterings.
Mines the same way! I blame it on the cold outside leading to me bringing it in more and it getting crappy humidity. It needs hella (60%) humidity
@stephonicle I never realized that I needed air flow between the two pots… duh! Thanks for mentioning. I’ve noticed condensation when watering a few of my plant babies now I know why.
