Why does my heartleaf philodendron Khaleesi have a yellow...

3ft to light, direct
6” pot with drainage
Last watered 2 days ago
How often do you water? When was the last time you had a soil refresh? How much light is it receiving?
@AnthuriumLove7 @MamaLinne Leaves yellowing and getting crinkly from the bottom/oldest up is almost always a drought response. They are using their lower leaves as a water bottle so that they can keep growing new ones in their search for more water. I would recommend more water! Either larger amount of water or more frequently. When the soil is getting close to dry give that philo a good big drink! πŸ’¦
@MamaLinne every week just a small amount - recently added some potting soil on top - she faced a south window about three feet away
@DreamMachine THANK YOU I will go water her now
Agree with @DreamMachine ! I sort of picked the β€œwater less frequently, but water deeply” method for my plants- mostly because I have over 100 and can’t water everyone weekly or I’d have to quit my job! They thrive by being watered when I finger test the soil and it’s dry up to about 1-2 knuckle, then I water until it’s pouring out of the bottom into a tray . I let it sit in the drained water for about 20-30 min, then dump the excess water. I also use a diluted fertilizer with each watering. Check out Nadia’s posts on watering and light- they’re great!
@MamaLinne @AnthuriumLove7 Thanks Deb! I water like that too! πŸ₯°πŸ«ΆπŸΌ
