Hi Bria! I use a cactus/succulent mix from The Home Depot, and I add lots of Perlite. I also have almost all my cacti and succulents in terracotta or unglazed clay pots. ☺️
@SillyPlantGirl thank u soooo much!!
@FreshTawa48 you’re welcome Bria
@FreshTawa48 hi Bria, how is your cactus doing?
@SillyPlantGirl I think very well now. I looked up if the white stuff in between the spikes is healthy and it said it was a good sign. What do u think??
Hi Bria! I think it looks great too! Yes the white stuff is good, and if yours is anything like mine- it should sprout some flowers. I thought mine was a fungus then a week or so tiny green flowers sprouted in a circle in the white stuff!

@SillyPlantGirl soooo pretty! I sure hope that mine does the same. I’d love to see it.
@FreshTawa48 it took mine about a year- it was very small- to grow a bit and I made sure it got 6-8 hours full sun every day. Don’t blink tho lol- my flowers lasted about a week. Send pics when your flowers!!
