My Kordana Minature Rose started drying out/losing leaves

I bought this Kordana miniature rose for my mom and it was not getting light. After 3 weeks it looked like it was dying. I repotted it and moved to indirect south facing light, trimmed all brown leaves and flowers. Is there any other ideas. I’m in 6a zone

Im going to be straight up with you here.

Roses make terrible houseplants.

They do not stay happy indoors. And their lives will be short.

It wants to go dormant, but it can't go fully dormant because inside temps are too warm. But when it skips its dormancy phase , it doesn't have a chance to build up energy and store it for next years growth and blooming.

If you can stick it in your garage for a few weeks at least and then pull her back into the house in mid April or so that would be ideal.

This is what she needs:

1. 1 month of rest (dormancy)

2. A dark place like a garage

3. Less water, she won't drink much while dormant

4. No fertilizer- you want her resting not growing.

I promise if you allow her this rest she will start growing new leaves fast and fil right in.
