Lace Aloe Help!
I got this lace aloe and it seemed unsteady from the start, but I repotted it to discover it had no roots grounding it and the bottom leaves are dying! Can I still save it? If so, how? #planthelp #lacealoe

Welcome to Greg, Lexi! You are in the right place.
I would peel off the bottom leaves that are drying, make sure that the base is dry and not mushy, and place the plant in a pot of fresh cactus mix.
If the base is moist or mushy, I would take a knife and scrape off any mushy parts and allow it to dry before placing it on the new cactus mix to ensure it doesn't rot.
Go easy on the watering and make sure to have it in a pot with good drainage.
New roots can have a good chance at forming. 🤞

Thanks so much @sarahsalith ! Is there a certain length of exposed base I should have?
@Lexi104 nope- as long as there is no rot, roots should grow. ☺️ It just needs to be left in bright, indirect light away from anything that would jostle or disturb it while it's rooting. It could take a couple of months, especially in colder weather with shorter days.
@sarahsalith great, thanks again for the advice! 🌱
I watched a video from an aloe farmer who clean up a similarly sad plant, but away the bad parts, then continued to cut off most of the leaves and hack the heart into pieces!! I was MORTIFIED. He stuck them in what looked almost like mud…then cut to two weeks or months and they ALL had sprouted!! My jaw dropped. So I’m trying that with one that fell apart when I tried to twist out the middle to propagate it. That worked on another aloe…here is the link to the video…https://youtu.be/drq7CtLAY3o and https://youtu.be/hIQpbOwEdpc
