Just got this Virginia blue fern and within the week it s...

#VirginiaBlueFern I placed it near an east saving window and have been keeping it moist. The tips of new growth browned and died off and I got a few crispy leaf tips. So i thought maybe it wasn’t humid enough. But the humidity in my house tends to be about 50-60%. It’s not that dry. So I’m not sure it was the humidity. I moved it to the bathroom that definitely gets humid. I think the crisping has stopped. But now the color of the leaves is no longer blue. It’s a very vibrant green. It seems there is a coating in the leaves that makes it have that bluish color and it seems to be gone. It looks healthy color for most plants but I want to get the blue color back. Could it be heat causing the blue color to go away? Has anyone had this experience? #HappyPlants #FernFriends
2ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
It could be that the amount of light it’s getting. Loves the humidity in the bathroom but what direction is the window?, and how far from window ?
@BlazingFreesia It’s about 1 foot from a west facing window. But it is pretty sheltered light for most of the day. I don’t think it gets direct sun
If you have an eastern or southern exposure window that gets better light about 4 feet back that would be a better option
