Root Rot?

#PricklyPearCactus my plant has started going soft and gray at the base— I held off on watering for a while, but want to know if this is redeemable ? Is it root rot? What’s the best move here!

Maybe just cut off the "bunny ears" and put them in the dirt. They dont seem too affected by it.
Water a *TINY* bit more than usual while you wait for new root systems, then only water when the dirt is TOTALLY dry!

Hey! Did you get an answer? I have the same problem. I propagated new growth from the infected plant and those are healthy. However, the original infected plant is still having new growth.
