What an interesting plant! 😍 The leaf drop was likely due to the change in weather. It looks like the stems are still a healthy burgundy brown color, so I wouldn't write the plant off as being dead. Do a little research and see if this species goes into a kind of dormancy for the colder months, as this could be a possibility.
