I cut off the top of my dying succulent. I know I have to wait three to five days for it to callous. What do I do after that? Last time I tried this, my succulent ended up dying.

@Succulent_Soul Next, plant the calloused top in dry, well-draining soil, I usualy sprinkle a dusting of rooting hormone powder on the plant to encourage root growth, then place it in bright indirect light, and wait to water it until roots grow. Planting and LightUse dry soil: Place the stem into a cactus or succulent mix.Bright indirect light: Keep the pot out of harsh direct sun so it does not burn.Watering RulesNo water yet: Do not water the soil until roots form.Test for roots: Gently tug the plant after two to four weeks to feel for resistance.Water lightly: Once roots grow, start watering when the soil is completely dry.
