Scarring/leaf deformation

You can see on the right hand underside of the front most facing leaf, there is a large spot which I assume to be scarring, but it’s also sort of pinched the bottom of the leaf upwards to create a sort of crater in the underside. It kinda β€œpinches” the thick bottom all the way up so it’s nearly flat with the top of the leaf in that one spot.

Is this due to too much sun? too much water? Does it need to be trimmed all the way down past that β€œcrater” or will the rest of the leaf survive fine in spite of that seemingly dead spot?

I have a similar issue with my fan aloe!! I assumed it to be a fungal infection (rot, basically!) which can be caused by water on aloe leaves... And it also caused the flattening you write about. I repotted mine, the roots were surprisingly healthy! But I moved her into a new pot with fresh soil, removed the (badly!) affected leaves and moved her into a slightly shadier spot... So far so good! I don't think the "flattened" leaves will recover tbh. When it's due to underwatering or inconsistent watering I think they'll fill out with a good drink but with caused by this kind of rot... I don't think it'll go back to being "gummy bear" bouncy, as someone put it! (Can't remember who to credit with that parade but I love it, it's exactly what healthy aloe leaves feel like! Lol).

Generally, from what I've read, to much Easter is the single biggest killer of aloes in general... And if water rests on the leaves it DEFINITELY causes problems! The least will probably be on despite the "crater", it just may end up a bit floppy, and need propped up. But you can just trim it if you want to. Like I said, I took of the two badly affected leaves and left the others. Try to bottom water it if you can, to avoid splashing & keep it away from tropicals (which generally like, and generate, large amounts of moisture!). I grouped all my succs together for that reason.

I don't think I've given you any answers sorry! It's just my experience... And I've not found any definitive explanation for the issues we're both facing! πŸ€” just that excess water seems to be at the bottom of it! (The ROOT cause, if you'll excuse the pun! Lmao 🀣). I hope it helps a little at least?! Lol and all the best with Tobias!! πŸ₯° I hope he thrives despite his sightly battered leaf! Xx
@JenniB81 I don’t mind as long as I don’t have to cut the leaf to prevent anything spreading. It still stands fine on its own and I’m assuming it won’t accrue additional damage. It’s also only on the underside, which would be weird if it was a watering issue. I can’t totally prevent some water from getting on the leaves but I wipe them with a napkin after I water them
