my peperomia plant has been looking droopy since i’ve got...

my peperomia plant seems to be struggling since i got her about a week to to this day. i’m really i watered her when i first planted her in a unglazed clay pot.. she started to look really droopy then. i watered her yesterday, and im not sure if she’s gotten worse or better or, even if she stayed the same at this point. i reported her to a bit smaller acrylic jar and im hoping that’ll help her some. this was the first day i got her compared to today. (slight note i do keep her on my screened in porch she gets 121• South east sun )
2” pot with drainage

@SinewyPyrethrum First off 121°F southeast sun?! BABY, that’s a Peperomia BBQ! She’s not built for the tropics of the surface of the sun. These babes like it bright indirect not “I just stepped onto Mercury.” If she’s on a screened porch, move her out of direct rays ASAP. Dappled light = happy plant. Watering Woes? Totally fair.
These drama queens HATE being too wet OR too dry. You said she got watered twice maybe too close together, especially if her roots were adjusting post-repot. Her roots might be doing the “who dis?” thing in new soil and haven’t latched on yet. Pot Swaps & Stress Stacks
Switching pots twice in a week? That’s like moving apartments, starting a new job, and getting ghosted all at once. She’s stressed, girl. Let her settle in ONE pot (ideally breathable like terra cotta or something with a drainage hole), and keep it consistent. She just needs space, hydration on her terms, and NO MORE DRAMA. That Leaf Droop? Classic Peperomia Panic.
If she’s still firm but just looking like she pulled an all nighter, she’s alive and just yelling at you in plant language. She’ll perk up once the roots are stable and she’s in her chill zone….. The Glow-Up Plan (aka the Chill & Heal Protocol)
• Bright, indirect light only
• Let her soil dry 50-75% down before watering
• Leave her in one pot with drainage
• Whisper compliments and give her 2 weeks of peace…You’re doing great, mama. She’s not mad just overwhelmed. Give her a minute and she’ll be back to serving ripple realness.
@JungleDreamer hey thankyou so so so so so much for the advice!!! i’ve moved her to a shady spot on the porch. my only other questions are: after i wait two weeks and let her do her plant thing, should i try and put some orchard potting soil in there to help her from drying out and also to help with drainage? ( i’m not sure if it will freak her out all over again if i do this) and youtube as told me when it is finally time to water her, should i put the pot in a bowl of water?
@SinewyPyrethrum Q1Add orchid mix after 2 weeks to help with drainage + hold moisture?
✨ Big yes but hold up just a sec. You don’t need to repot again (our girl’s had enough whiplash for one month). Instead Top-dress trick
Sprinkle a lil’ orchid bark or chunky mix on top of the soil and gently press it in. That’ll slow down evaporation and still help airflow. Easy breezy, no root tantrum….If the mix she’s in now is compact or holding too much water, next time you repot (like in a few months), go 50% regular soil + 25% orchid bark + 25% perlite = airy spa blend…. Q2 YouTube said to bottom water in a bowl…should I??…Ah, classic YouTube advice. Bottom watering slaps if your soil is dry and your pot has drainage holes….Here’s how to do it without turning her into soggy soup
1. Pop the pot in a bowl with 1–2 inches of water.
2. Let her sip for 15–30 mins MAX.
3. Feel the topsoil. If it’s still dry, give her a tiny top-up.
4. Then drain off the excess don’t let her sit in water like it’s a jacuzzi. Yes to orchid mix, but do it gently don’t stress her with another repot.
• Bottom watering = fab, just don’t overdo it.
• You’re killing it. She’s not just gonna bounce back—she’s gonna thrive.
• And if she could talk? She’d say: “Thanks for not giving up on me, Destiny.”
Keep being the fairy godplant-mother you are
hey again, i was just wondering how she looks, ive followed ur advice to a T lol
