Clay pot is too wet
I watered my Echeveria, and because the pot was clay, it soaked up the water. Two days later, and itβs still wet. How do I dry out the pot quicker? #Echeveria

@SimpleSucculent Hi there! I think you donβt have to worry that the pot is still wet. Itβs doing itβs job in preventing your plant from getting too much water. When I water my succulents, I usually bottom water them by setting them in a dish of water. The clay pot also absorbs water, which is a good thing. It keeps the plants from being overwatered. ππ΅
@SunnyPlants I actually bottom watered it! But will mold grow?
@SimpleSucculent I have not had that happen.
@SunnyPlants is right. A wet clay pot doesn't matter at all.
Itβs okay tha your pot is wet itβs evaporating through your pot. Sometimes powdery mildew will grow on your pot if itβs wet too long, and itβs not getting proper airflow. If you can stick it outside where is can have plenty of air and light it should be just fine. Just make sure you donβt keep your pots too close together because the lack of airflow can cause issues
@TidyTigerpear @SunnyPlants @SvelteKingfern yesterday morning the pot was still wet, and then somehow at nighttime the pot was dry
Terracotta/clay pots, although wet straight after watering, let the water evaporate more quickly through tiny pores. These are the best pots for echeveria, because overwatering is less likely. I also fully support what @TidyTigerpear said above.
