Elephant ear plant leaf dying
My elephant ear plant has a leaf that is dying. Should I cut it off or leave it?
@adamified thanks! My issue is the stem is huge … it’s one of the main leaves. It would be difficult to prune
@AcuminousRedfir how come? All you really need is sharp, clean shears or a razor. to further prevent disease on the spot you cut you can apply cinnamon to act as a scab in a sense.
It’s better to prune during the growing season but a simple adjustment like this won’t stunt anything

@adamified okay I cut it off. How does this look? I definitely over watered him. There’s also a brownish liquid that appeared?
Hi again, @AcuminousRedfir
I’m not an expert with hyacinth
But I’ve researched that hyacinth bulbs can produce a smelly, viscous substance that is sometimes called "snot" in Dutch. This substance can be wiped off with a paper towel
If you think you overwatered it then give it a bit of time before the next water. If the condition worsens perhaps repot and observe the health of the roots.
