Surprise mushroom

I am not experienced with plants. Here I have an indoor pot and a very tiny mushroom just... appeared? I am confused. Should I leave it there or remove it?

@maci.in.bloom @Rorophyll It is most likely the little yellow houseplant mushroom fungus (Leucocoprinus birnbaumii), or perhaps a slime mold like Fuligo septica. Neither are harmful to your plants, and nothing you did caused it to happen. It just means the spores were in the soil, it is quite common. They are a beneficial part of our ecosystem, recycling decaying matter, and they can also mean that you have healthy, nutrient-rich soil.

However, the yellow mushroom fungus is toxic to ingest for humans and pets so make sure no animals or little humans ingest the mushrooms.
Remove it quick!
