Hello Greg family, my silverbay has mold growing on top o...

If it's possible try to repot it with new soil, it might nit help much but adding a more loose soil and more drainage could be helpful!
From what I understand that's not really a bad sign, it means you have good nutrient rich soil. You should still remove it but you don't have to re-pot. Just scoop it off and top dress it.
It won't hurt your plant it is called saprophytic fungi. It's a natural decomposer and really likes damp soil.

It is a sign though that you should cut back a little on water it's okay for the top half of the soil to dry out before watering again. If she's in continually moist soil the bacteria start to grow due to a lack of oxygen. Eventually the bacteria attacks plant roots causing the dreaded "root rot".

To get rid of the fungi if it bothers you. I get it, it bothers most people you can mix:

1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide with 3 parts water in a spray bottle.

Then mist the soil surface. It will kill it off immediately. And is plant safe. 🩷
