Watering

So i’m very new to the game and have been watering my foxtail every time the top 3 inches are dried out. Is this too much water considering the soil dries every 4 days and the recommended time is once a week #PlumeAsparagus
6” pot with drainage
Last watered 9 months ago
Hi Madi welcome to Greg! I go by what Greg says, but I also have to go by my climate. I’m in Texas and most of my plants are in pots, which soil dried out faster in pots- especially in this heat (it’s already over 100 here). My advice is this- when you think it’s ready for a drink- give it one and push the water button. If it’s not ready- hit the snooze button. Greg app pays attention to your watering and also your weather/climate. It learns from you, and adjusts time to water etc. I hope this helps ☺️
@PoetOrchids82 Hi Madi how much do you water it when you water? I don't usually go by how much the app says to water. I'll check my plant, if the soil feels dry I'll water them thoroughly! Like until I see water running out of the bottom of the pot. Watering like that might prolong how often you water it. I'll also tip the pot left and right to make sure all of the water is out and not caught in there somewhere. While you are lifting the pot take note on how heavy it is after you watered it. You'll also be able to tell if the plant needs water by how light the pot is before you water it. I learned this trick not long ago and rarely see that as an option on checking your plant. Anyway, you're doing something right because Ares is gorgeous πŸ₯°
@princesspitstop I also water until I see it coming out of the bottom so that’s a relief! The weight trick is very smart i’ll start trying that out from now on thanks for the advice and i appreciate the love!πŸ’—πŸ™
