Cacti flower in the hope of creating other baby cacti. I know some crummy shops will sometimes glue plastic flowers to cacti, but if it is legitimately flowering… it’s just flowering like any other flowering plant.
Those are going to beautiful flowers one they fully bloom!! (Btw- you can cut that fake yellow one off, try to get most of the glue as it does hurt the cactus a bit). Not sure if your plant is is correct-but cacti need 6-8 hours of direct sun a day. A terracotta pot with drainage, and with good draining soil (cactus/succulent mix 50%, and perlite 50%, are important- cacti do not like to be wet. Flowers mean the cactus is happy and will start growing. Please update us with photos of the fully bloomed flowers!!
