Does English Lavender need a lot of sunlight?

@FernInTheCity I believe Lavender does prefer to be placed in a full sun position, especially west or south facing.
Thank you both. I had it in a place that gets sunlight, albeit I wouldn’t say direct. I noticed the soil not drying out, so I thought maybe it wasn’t getting enough sun. It could also be attributed to getting a lot of rain here and not much sun lately.
