@SmileyRedbanana and I didnβt mean to say demons!! lol but that kinda cracks me up. Iβll just refer to the moody ferns as demons from now on! π€£π
@SmileyRedbanana hello! π πIn my opinion demons are very hard to keep happy indoors in the winter. At least in my climate they are. Iβm in Pennsylvania and in the summer outside they get warm humid weather and they thrive. In the winter π₯Ά have bring them in because itβs about 8Β°F outside right now and my house is just too dry, do to the dry winter air and the forced hot air heat from my furnace. You could try placing a humidifier in the same room as your fern, or placing you fern in a bathroom where people frequently shower. That may help the humidity issues.
@nellz4estfairyz could you let me know how often I should water this too? :) I have a spray gun to keep the leaves moist... but not sure how often to water her
@SmileyRedbanana well itβs tricky because you do t want to over water but ferns donβt like to completely dry out. And it completely depends on your specific growing environments how long it will take to dry out so I canβt give you an exact number of days. What I do is check the pot daily or every other day first by lifting it up to see if it feels like it got lighter or if it still heavy, and next sticking my finger deep down into the soil to see how damp it feels or how dry it feels. When the pot starts to feel lighter and the soil feels just a little bit moist down in the middle of the pot thatβs when I water mine. If itβs still damp at the top, itβs probably too soon to water, unless itβs outside in hot weather, then you may need to water every day or every other day. But indoors plants take a lot longer to dry out.οΏΌ

@nellz4estfairyz βdemonsβ is so accurate tho!!!!! Iβm laughing so hard right because itβs real life!!! You made my dayβ¦.and on that note, Iβll go trim up my own moody demons that are being difficult while we overwinter indoors.
