New Habanero Dropping Leaves

Got this guy about 10 days ago and heโ€™s been kind of withering in my care. In the last couple days most of his larger leaves have dropped off. Itโ€™s possible Iโ€™ve been overwatering (every 2-3 days) so Iโ€™m going to back off to once a week, but Iโ€™m wondering if there could be something else Iโ€™m missing. Itโ€™s still dropping down to the lower 50s at night but heโ€™s getting a full 8-10 hours of direct sun on my south facing patio. #leafdrop #HabaneroPepper #PepperLovers #HotPeppers

@OCISLY Too large a pot can lead to root rot because the soil stays wet too long for the size of the root ball. Thatโ€™s my understanding, anyway. Hope your habanero recovers! ๐Ÿชด
Oh wow I hadnโ€™t even considered that. I didnโ€™t realize a pot could be too big. How does that affect plant health?
Thanks for the tip! Iโ€™m going to see if I can get this one to recover in here with a reduced watering schedule but if it doesnโ€™t help I will give repotting a try! Thanks for the help!
