“Brown gooey death” does sound like overwatering. Did the soil feel quite wet when you repotted it? Be sure it’s in well draining soil in a pot with good drainage, and that the pot is not much bigger than the root ball. And let it dry out completely before watering (I always use a moisture meter). What’s left looks healthy, so that’s good! ❤️🪴
@debbiedo I should also note, the photo was just the original photo I’d taken for the app, back when it was new and healthy. You wouldn’t have flattering things to say if you saw its current state 😂
