Should I water????

So my pretty little friend here at root rot on one side about a month ago I repotted took out the bad stuff and propagated what I could save. Soo the soil bone dry and has been for since the repot. When should I οΏΌwater her, and how much???
8ft to light, indirect
8” pot with drainage
Last watered 2 years ago
Since cacti prefer to stay pretty much bone dry, I would water her when the tips of her leaves look squishy (not discolored though) and until the water runs out of the drainage hole. All I would say is give it a lot of sun, and water it maybe once a month (That’s a lot for a cactus!) You did really good on getting rid of the root rot!

If you said the soil is bone dry, I would recommend bottom watering it. Putting it in a pan of an inch or two of water. I also recommend top watering it as well until some water pours out of the bottom. That means you watered it enough. After you water it this time, I would not water it until the soil is bone dry again, and the leaves start to look shriveled. Succulents/cacti don’t like a lot of water since they store it in their stems/leaves/and sometimes roots. They don’t like soggy soil, too much water can cause root rot. After I water my succulents, until the water runs out of the bottom, i don’t water them again for one or two months, or until the soil is bone dry, or the leaves start to look shriveled. I have my succulents as a houseplant, until the spring and it gets warmer out. After I water mine, the soil stays relatively moist depending on the humidity of my house, and it stays wet longer. A houseplant’s water requirement may be different from week-to-week due to variations in relative humidity and sunlight intensity.
I hope this information helps!
Good Luck!

@L06flower so water both top and bottom at the same time??
@Succ_it
I normally do… you can do it however you like.
@Succ_it
I normally let the plant sit in the water for a half-hour then I do the top separately.
