Looking for suggestions
I bought this plant last weekend from a store. Didnβt want to repot it right a way. The soil was dry when I got it and so I watered 1/2 cup of my water soluble fertilized water. The soil is wet at the moment. I put it on top of my plant shelf where it doesnβt get direct grow light. The shelf is located within 3 ft from north and west facing windows. What do you suggest so I donβt kill it. @DreamMachine #dreammachine
3ft to light, indirect
3β pot with drainage

@StableKale82 ooh nice! Your cyclamen looks to be stabling, woohoo!! π₯³ And beautiful fiddle leaf fig. π± Where did you get it from? I donβt need specifics but do you know if it was straight from a grower like costa farms or did you get it at a grocery store, or nursery?
If it was from a big box store who get regular shipments straight from the grower I would reccomend putting it in the brightest spot you have! If it might have had some time to sit in a darker place like a grocery store or smaller nursery then Iβd start by putting it in medium light to acclimate, and slowly introduce it to brighter and brighter light over a period. And now Iβll brb, Let me go get my notes on them for you βΊοΈ

@StableKale82 ruh roh! Those are a lot of yellow leaves! If you just got it this past weekend Iβm guessing they were caused by getting too dry from wherever you got it. Is it in a nursery pot inside the outside pot? Can you move it a little closer to the grow light? If this is a drought response, then the only thing you can do is do is keep it in a stable environment, make sure it doesnβt get cold, and just keep it lightly damp, but not soggy, over the next couple weeks while it recovers, and donβt let it get dry. After it recovers you can resume a normal cycle of letting it dry out more in between waterings. Have you already checked for pests? Webbing, cottony fluff, scale insects?
@DreamMachine yes, no pest signs at least for now. But I will put it closer to the grow light and hope it recovers. π
@StableKale82 good luck Ena!! Keep me posted please ππΌ And really just barely lightly damp for the next couple ish weeks. Itβs kind of like youβre teasing out new root hair growth. Oh! Do you have a seedling heat mat? If you do, put it on it, theyβre really helpful for encouraging new root growth, but totally ok if not too, just find a nice stable warm place βΊοΈ
@StableKale82 Howβs your cyclamen doing?
@DreamMachine the yellowing slowed down.
@DreamMachine it came from someoneβs home. And they had it in front of a window. I was hoping it would be okay until I get my light bulbs delivered tomorrow and I can set it up for next day. π€ priorities!
@StableKale82 thats actually perfect then! Medium light will be good for it for a little while and then you can slowly get it used to brighter light. I gotta run out for a sec but if I donβt respond with my FLF notes, could please you nudge me?
@DreamMachine will do π
Argh!! Greg isnβt letting me comment right now. Iβll try to make a quick post and tag you! @StableKale82
@StableKale82 Greg isnβt even letting me make a post, dang it! Can I send to an email?
