Help! Droopy plants in hanging basket!
Hi all,
I've planted out some #aubrieta and #candytuft in a #hangingbasket for the summer and up until now they've been growing amazing! No flowers yet but lovely strong stems.
Come back from work today and they're all sad and droopy! Is it from the mad rain, been a while since a nice sun spell? Am I not watering enough? What can I do to help it thrive?
TIA

It means that it has taken up all of the space in the pot with its roots so that when you water it, thereβs very little soil to retain the moisture. Rootbound plants, sometimes called potbound plants, are basically plants that needed repotting long ago. Lacking the space to stretch out, the roots of a rootbound plant are congested and overgrown, stuffed tightly into the container. Instead of the root system spreading out like the branches of a tree, with plenty of space between the individual tendrils, a rootbound plant keeps its roots clumped together into a dense tangle. Acutely rootbound plants may have a root ball that takes the shape of the container, and some may have entirely replaced the soil of the pot with their densely coiled root.
@HoneyBee65 what do you mean by root bound?
