Why is my plant sad??

Just recently bought from a local plant store and he was BEAUTIFUL. He started yellowing a few days after I brought him home, originally was about a foot away from my s facing window and lower than the window so indirect light. Since he was yellowing I moved him to this plant stand just a little farther away but it seems like he’s getting worse. I just threw some leca into the catch pot and added a little bit of water for some additional humidity but my other alos seem to be happy without it. #PurpleSword #AlocasiaAddicts
2ft to light, indirect
6” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
It doesn’t look like anything major! Seems like moving stress, when did you get him? Yes definitely need bright indirect light or a grow light. Right Alocasia queen?? :) @PoisedAlbo
Check for pests or bugs on the leaves and soil. How often are you watering? The other leaves and stalk look great! Seems like just a little drama 🀣😍✨🌱🀩 best of luck!!!
@MontanaGrown what’s the pH of the plant? I’ve been having some alocasia issues so I’ve been doing an experiment. Because with all the yellowing leaves everyone will say light or fungus etc and as I have been reading up and researching, they need acidic soil like blueberries do. When I used my meter almost all of my alocasias with yellow, the pH was between 7.1-7.8. They prefer 5.5-6.5. If the pH in your soil is higher than 6.5, the leaves will begin to turn yellow even if all the other requirements are met.
@Prentyce no bugs or pests! I got her on Dec 27th so she’s still really new and I have not watered since I got her since the soil is still wet. I did chop the yellowing leaves and put her back where I originally had her.
@TheOddAsity I actually don’t know. I’ve never checked the PH of any of my plants. Do you have a recommendation on a tool for that?
@PoisedAlbo I chopped the two this morning and put her back in her original spot last night. I have to move towns in about two months so I will leave her alone for good until then πŸ˜‚
And for reference this was what she looked like when I bought her.
@MontanaGrown I never checked pH before πŸ˜‚ who thinks of that?!? I know I bought all my alocasia and they were full and happy. I provided correct light, I don’t over water, I fertilize. I put some LECA as a drainage layer in one and that one tanked the fastest (LECA holds steady at 8.0). I was doing research and every article was like β€œthey need acidic soil”. My water meter also does pH and I checked. All of them were out of range. This is the one I have:

@TheOddAsity ORDERING ONE RIGHT NEOWWW
@MontanaGrown when you get it, and you test it, lemme know what it reads. I’m just now FULLY INVESTED in your story πŸ˜‚
@TheOddAsity it’s been ordered!!! Along with some microfiber gloves for leaf cleaning. Should have it by the 7th!!
@TheOddAsity this is what my meter is saying.
@MontanaGrown am I seeing that right that it is over 7.0
@TheOddAsity that’s what it looks like. However, I will say it did not go down when I put it in tap water, or other plants. It also didn’t go up when I put it in orange juice so maybe mine is just faulty.
@MontanaGrown I think that’s normal because mine was the same when I put it in lemon juice etc. so I wonder if it’s just for β€œsolids”.

I added sulfur, to mine and have balanced out the pH and one of my alocasias is growing a flower. I know you can use lemon juice and/or vinegar mixed with water to lower pH but it’s temporary.
Not sure if anyone was following this but she has started to push out a third leaf!!! And neither of the existing ones look like they’re dropping. So excited!!
