String of Turtles Care
#Peperomia #StringOfTurtles
I just got this string of turtles, and I donβt want to screw her up! Iβm used to letting Peperomias dry all the way out before watering, but I read somewhere that you shouldnβt do that with this plant. Is it true? Iβve already overwatered a Peperomia before which led to root rot and fungus gnats.

Hi Katherine! Itβs true- Turtles like moist soil. If you lightly pinch a mature leaf and itβs solid- it does not need water. If you can fold it like a taco- itβs time to water. Bottom watering is really beneficial because getting the leaves wet causes rot. I stick mine in. Pot of water for 20-30 minutes depending on how long itβs been since last watered. But mine is much smaller than yours- which is Beautiful btw! You can top watering- be sure it gets evenly watered and the water comes out the bottom. I hope this helps! πΈ
@SillyPlantGirl that makes sense, thank you! I did the taco test, and she seems fine for now. I think Iβm just nervous because the taco test failed me with my Peperomia Hope. However, I originally potted her in the wrong type of soil, so that likely wonβt happen here.
