@FirstChickory93 I agree with @MamaLinne, and they're vicious creatures.
Every spring, they attack my Cannas.
A non-chemical method: Lots of crushed fresh garlic, fresh chili peppers, and cut up fresh onion. Iβve had some success with substituting the dried seasoning versions of one or more of the ingredients. Since it's a 10β pot, mix 1- 11/2 cups , keep it in a container without a lid, then set it under the leaves, on top of the soil.
Check it each day to see if itβs helping, or the opposite, and attracting other pests (then switch to the dry versions, in 1/4 cups, and place them under the leaves). The goal is to create a smell barrier, so the grasshoppers wonβt stop at your plant.
Commercial method (I'm going to try this year): An insecticidial spray. Youβll want to look for one that lists grasshoppers, and is safe for your Gold Dust Croton. Iβm in the US, so Iβll list what I know ( I get it from Walmart). Captain Jackβs Dead Bug Brew. I called their customer service, and she said Captain Jackβs Dead Bug Brew works on grasshoppers (leaf hoppers), and is safe for your Chinese Hibiscus and Gold Dust Croton.
If thatβs not available , look for a product that has oil in it, because it will kill on contact.
One last note: many people talk about NEEM Oil. Itβs a preventative product, not a killing one. In my opinion, it stinks like π©, and has never been effective, for me.
