Monstera

I got a monstera about a month ago. And recently ive noticed shes growing heavily out and not up. And is reaching for the light. Shes on the opposite wall of my window. I need her to start growing up instead of out cause shes starting to take up to much space for my space. This is my first monstera so maybe this is normal and i just need to move her to where i have more room. I was wondering of anyone had any tips or explanations or basically any information. Thank you!
Yes this is very normal & what they do “climbers of the plant world” that are under canopy plants.

Monstera in the wild
Most people use moss poles, in my experience trying to purchase a few they all suck.. better off buying a bag of peat moss & small spool of chicken wire, few zip ties. Personally I feel that 1-2” thick 4-6” wide. & 2-4ft tall would be ideal. Make 2-3 of them & you could stack them if you want it going taller.
A solid 1 piece will be more sturdy but ya depends on how much room you got bc the leaves can get 4-6ft & will climb as much as it can pic is about 40ft leaves are prob 3ft woods in that pic. Said pic is nature in brazil I was told. Can’t confirm but seems legit . Bet of luck.

all that being said, my split leaf philodendrons and monsters are growing up bamboo stakes, and are really wishing they had something to climb up besides a stick.
Every stake for climbing I’ve try to purchase has been junk sadly. But what I described would be cheap easy for anyone to do & climbing plants love the homemade moss poles.
I want to try to plant one underneath a dogwood honestly and see if it would climb up it with the protection of the shade from the dogwood. I think it would be awesome.
