Question about the app
It appears to me that the Greg app is really only geared for indoor plants, even though it gives an option for outdoor plants in the details??? My outdoor plants always appear to need way more water than what it tells me. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Hi Tonya! ππ½
The app uses your full plant card and location information to create the watering schedule with about 80%+ accuracy. It then learns what your plants need as you "water" or "snooze" them and completes the schedule from there.
Since the app can't see your medium as you make it, or stick its finger in the soil before you water, it sometimes needs that extra learning time from you.
Outdoor plants especially have more variables that indoor so the app may just need more "snooze" and "water" input than with your indoor plants.

I agree with @PlantMompy - you just have to look over a couple of things when you have outside plans. I have lots of plants that stay outside and depending on the location of the plant and the direction it faces, I tweak the plant card. (: οΏΌ
We're so glad you found Greg, Tonya!

@PlantMompy thank you so much for responding! This is so helpful! What about the pot diameter for outdoor plants. Some are in the ground, but I have to select a size in order for the details to be complete???
That is definitely a bit tougher as it is basing frequency off pot size, and obviously in ground plants "drain" differently.
You could guess the size of the root ball, or the pot it was in before you planted it. That's what I do. I use Greg more as a reminder for those plants than a "water when Greg says." Also, make sure you mark them "watered" when it rains!
