What should I do?

I got this cutting about 3 months ago. They recommended I kept the cutting in water for the first two weeks before transferring to soil. Everything was going good until about a month ago. Are the leaves dying because of the cold? I’m in southern Virginia so temps here are still 50-70 degrees Fahrenheit on average. I’ve been watering about once a week. The thing that’s concerning me the most is the browning at the top of the trunk. Please help!

The brown top is concerning but the best way to determine if it's still clinging to life or not is to use your fingernail or a small sharp knife (like a paring knife) and barely scrape the bark and see if it's still green in the middle. If it is still green, it may just be going dormant.
