So my pilosocereus baumii cactus has very long spines so in order to pick it up I have to grab one of the spines is that an okay way to lift it? Also when I water it the water just goes down the sides of the pot and not much water goes into the soil😐

I’ve seen people wrap cardboard around it like a pocket, but you’d have to be careful that it didn’t slip through and fall. As for water, you can try bottom watering? Can you post a picture? I’d also suggest going on YouTube - there are lots of great videos on moving or repotting cacti.
