Having a hard time getting my Hoya Cryptic Chrome cutting...
Best Answer
Okay, Iβll share my all time favorite way to propagate hoyas: damp perlite in a ziplock bag π I throw in a couple handfuls of perlite in a quart or gallon ziplock bag. I partially fill with hot water and swish around to wash the perlite off. Then I almost close the bag and let as much water drain out as possible. You donβt want puddles left behind. Then I toss in the cutting, blow up the bag and seal it. I have a 98% success rate with it!! (If one of my cuttings pulls through it will be 100% π

@DreamMachine thank you so much for this help. Iβve never heard of this way. I usually keep the cutting in whatever substrate it was sent in, if it was sent in some that is. I will definitely be trying this. I tried fluval and perlite mixed but it seems like they take forever
@TRose you are so welcome! It really doesnβt pop up in mainstream ways to propagate. I happened upon it randomly from a hoya obsessed person! I love that itβs also like a little self contained quarantine chamber at the same time βΊοΈ
@DreamMachine π€π€π€ I wonder if that would work for other propogations
@SpyderLily it does π Itβs the only prop method I use on everything but succulents/cacti. Pictured are Begonia maculata, Philodendron micans, Anthurium wendlingeri, P. spiritus sancti, and Scindapsus pictus
@DreamMachine Do you just blow it up with your breath? Or do you use a hairdryer or small air compressor or something similar?
@SpyderLily with my breath
