I just bought this little guy and half the leaves crisped...

#GrapeIvy
18ft to light, direct
5” pot without drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
Your pot indicates no drainage so that could have been one issue but from what I can see in the photo and your plant card, your plant has been overexposed to sunlight which burned it. Ivy plants thrive in bright indirect light so 6 hours under a grow light is way too much. I’m no expert but that plant looks in bad shape so I’m not sure it can be saved.
It seems that the issue with your Grape Ivy might be related to the lack of drainage in the pot. When plants are in containers without proper drainage, excess water can accumulate at the roots, leading to root rot, which is often reflected in wilting leaves and crispy edges. Here’s what you can do:

1. Repot the plant in a container with drainage holes to allow excess water to escape.
2. Make sure the soil you’re using is well-draining. You can add perlite or coarse sand to the mix to help with aeration and prevent the soil from holding too much water.
3. Water the plant only when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Overwatering in pots without drainage can suffocate the roots.

Fixing the drainage issue should help improve your plant’s health. Also, avoid giving it too much plant food, as fertilizer can further stress the plant when it’s already struggling.
@Shells_Garden thank you. It has gotten worse just in a day or two I’m not sure it can be saved either.
@Gustavo thank you for the steps. I’ll try but idk if I can save it. But know I’ll know for next time.
