It can be repotted every couple of years or when the roots start to poke out of the drainage holes. Sometimes the plant can become rootbound - the roots will circle around the inside of the pot so it's worth checking for this by gently tugging the plant out to look at its roots. You may also be able to feel this by giving the bottom of the pot a squeeze - it'll feel hard because it's all roots.

Use a succulent/cactus potting mix and repot in a pot 1-2" bigger than its current pot/rootball size. Don't go bigger than this - succulents like to dry out a bit in between waterings so if the pot is too big it'll take longer to dry out, leading to overwatering and rootrot.

Terracotta is a good option for succulents but as long as you use the right kind of soil and the pot has drainage holes the plant should be ok. Best of luck! ๐Ÿชดโœจ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘
