Idk why this is doing this maybe it’s too close to my humidifier it is really wet I checked for pest and don’t see any #NotSoHappyPlants

So… when I see new leaves unfurling, I make it a point to list the plant’s proximity every morning before 10am just to support the humidifier. Mechanical damage like this can happen when it’s not getting enough moisture to unfurl just in time to avoid damage via sticking together and tearing as the rest of the leaf and petiole turn and move to release the foliage from the sheath. I think your friend that gave you the plant may not have had the humidity high enough and once it was transferred to your place, your humidity helped but possibly not in enough time to avoid the damage. This also can happen if there was a sudden temp spike or a draught that made it “shy” to unfurl. @Michelle5986
