Is it normal for leaves to die off so quickly?

Every time this plant starts to put out a new leaf, an older leaf dies. It’s like they only last a day or two. Is this normal or do I have a very dramatic mojito? #Taro

@Mama_Jaimekins It's not uncommon for plants to shed older leaves as they produce new ones. However, if your plant's leaves are dying off very quickly, it might indicate an issue such as inadequate light, improper watering, or nutrient deficiencies. While some leaf loss is normal, rapid and consistent leaf die-off could suggest a problem. It's a good idea to assess the plant's care conditions, including light, water, humidity, and soil health, to ensure it's receiving the appropriate care. To address the rapid leaf die-off, here's what you can do @Mama_Jaimekins
Light: Make sure your plant is getting the right amount of light. Mojito Taro plants prefer bright, indirect light. Adjust its placement to ensure it's receiving adequate light without being exposed to direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Watering: Check your watering routine. Ensure the plant is neither sitting in water nor drying out completely between waterings. Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Use well-draining soil to prevent root rot.
Humidity: Mojito Taro plants appreciate higher humidity levels. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves regularly or placing a humidity tray nearby.
Nutrients: Feed your plant with a balanced, diluted fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer). Follow the recommended dosage on the fertilizer packaging.
It should not kill them every time it gets a new one older leaves are known to die off but it should not be every time I would see what the roots look like and go from there
The plant you have is a dramatic plant, so in a normal household you would normally have that it dies a leaf when you produce a new one.

Even if you have high humidity and enough light it still can be fussy. So just try to do the best you can. They do love higher humidity.

Just please dont mist the plant for added humidity, this will only increase the chances for fungus on the leaves.
Humidity levels need to be constant, with misting you will only increase it for a short amount of time. The change in humidity levels can stress out a plant more.
Move it gradually nearer a window with good light over the next couple of weeks or get a grow light don’t change anything else to do with its routine this way you can rule one thing and see over the next month if it makes a difference.
