It’s difficult to tell without a close photo, but when leaves are dry and crispy feeling that is usually a sign of it being too dry. My understanding is their soil needs to stay moist but not wet, they like afternoon shade, and they will experience heat stress if they spend too long in 85+F temps (so they grow best in cooler seasons).
