Did I over water my dragon tree?
Hi, I have had this plant for about a week. The soil was completely dry so we have it a good watering. I usually give a good amount of water and watch the water drain from the bottom. I watered 4 days ago and when I came home today (I was out of town), a decent amount of leaves were brown. I live in the desert and it's pretty dry here. My plants that like humidity live in the bathroom. It gets decent sun, but not direct and some humi6when we shower. We might have had some rainy days when we were gone so they might not have had much sunlight. I already removed a few completely brown leaves.
Do I just cut the bad leaves and water less next time? Thanks!

Hi Crystal! Dragons like to be in really good draining soil in pots like terracotta or unglazed clay (they allow the soil and roots to breathe). I canβt see the soil really well but it looks like itβs a general soil. I would suggest adding perlite to the soil to help aerate. Dragons are susceptible to overwatering but heavy soils lead to overwatering and can lead to root rot. You could take the plant out of its pot to mix in some Perlite, and check the roots to make sure they arenβt starting to rot. My dragons are in cactus/succulent soil with added perlite, orchid bark and a bonsai mix (lava, sand etc). Make sure the plants soil is almost dry before watering. I hope this helps! Pic is of 1 of mine, have had for 11 years and it just had a baby last month π
