Hi @CordialPomelo66 you can keep it to rebloom again next winter! It needs to transition though from blooming to resting so it can bloom again. Trim the blooms back to a couple of inches from the bulb. But don’t cut the leaves off! Keep it in bright light. Water it as you have been (top inch dries out). Fertilize it every month, watching for new leaf growth. Then in late summer or early fall stop watering and fertilizing. This is the time for your bulb to rest so it can bloom again. When the leaves die back store the bulb in a cool dry place. I take it out of the pot and store the bulb in my garage where the temps are lower but never below 45 degrees. Some people keep it in the pot with soil and store it that way. Either way, a couple of months before you want it to bloom again repot, if you’ve removed from it from pot, or refresh the soil if it’s in the same soil. You can begin watering & fertilizing again. If you get more amaryllis bulbs start them at different times, like 2 weeks apart so you get a flow of different flowers at different times. Have fun!!
This is what it looks like now.
I haven’t watered in a while because I thought I was supposed to let it rest now that the blooms are gone. This plant parenting thing is harder than it looks!
Update. I cut it back and moved to a spot out of the sun. It’s starting to sprout again…
So I moved it back into the sun for the summer.
