Dying leaves on Snake Plant

Hello! Anyone know why I’ve had 3 leaves on my snake plant go brown and floppy and die? I cut them off but each time another leaf starts to die. Anyone know what’s causing this? This is the 3rd leaf to start going brown.
Thanks :)
It looks like it could be sunburn, what kind of light does it get?
@Herbologybadger Not much ! Only gets sun for like an hour a day through my window if that, other than that my rooms relatively low light. Maybe I’ll try moving it though
Hi Zara πŸ‘‹ when the leaves brown are the crispy or kinda squishy?

If they're going squishy and floppy, I'm afraid you're probably overwatering her. Sansevieria are succulents, and though they are REALLY hardy, too much moisture in the soil is going to really make her sad 😒

Since it sounds like the leaves are turning one after the other I would take her out of her pot and have a good look at her roots, I suspect she has rot. Sterlise a pair of scissors or snips, and cut away all the roots that are black/ brown/ squishy/ smelly... You'll know them when you see them! (Be brave! It seems extreme but you're doing her a favour in the long run πŸ’š). Rinse the remaining roots in a 3:1 water to peroxide solution and/ or dust them with ground cinnamon (plain old store cupboard cinnamon, it's a GREAT natural fungicide).

Repot her in fresh cactus/ succulent soil. Water her in gently and then sit back and wait πŸ₯° she may look a bit sad for a week or two, that's totally normal (it's called transplant shock and all plants get it to some degree when we mess with them!).

Going forwards I would definitely recommend using the dip test to know if it's time to water! Snake plants want to REALLY dry out between waterings so stuck your finger in the soil as far as you can push it (or a skewer/ chopstick/ knitting needle/ anything long and thin!) and if it's at all damp, cold, or there's wet soil sticking to your finger/ chopstick etc. hit snooze on Greg (to teach the app the right schedule for your plant, Greg takes a lot of factors into consideration when planning the watering schedule but it can't possibly know them all so the clever Greg Team created a learning programme πŸ€“πŸ’š) and wait a few days before testing again. You can also hit water on the app if you decide she does need a drink but Greg doesn't say it's time yet. I do this with all 100 and something of my plants all year round... The drying time if your soil is affected by SO many different things, including the seasons! So I use the app to remind me but I still test each and every one before I water them πŸ’š

Good luck! You'll be fine πŸ₯° and do let us know how you get on? You can always ask for advice and help on here, but we're equally happy to see you're successes and lessons learned! That's what makes this wee community so brilliant πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š x
@JenniB81 Thanks so much !! That’s super helpful. I’ll give her a repot soon and let you know how it goes :)
