If you wanna cut it, is personal preference. When it is flowering it doesn't focus on producing new leaves, so people usually cut it off so it will focus on new leaves again.
But if you want it to flower, you can also keep it till it dies off.

Yes, it’s a flower. You can cut it if you want to. I normally leave them alone to go through the process of flowering and producing pollen. It won’t hurt it if you choose to go either direction: keep it or snip it off.
