What’s up with Morticia?

My darling little #airplant is crisping up and I don’t get it. She’s misted every day and soaked for over half an hour, once a week. RO water only. I’ve had her at least three months.

I have two other tillys that I treat the same way and they’re thriving. So what gives?!

Has she flowered? Air plants eventually die after blooming. It is the beginning of old age.

Are those lower leaves damp, mushy, or soft? Then it’s likely to be overwatering.

Do you turn it upside down to thoroughly drain it after watering?

You may be misting it too much. You never want water staying on the plant. I found I didn’t need to spray. A good weekly soak was plenty.
Could she be exhausting those older leaves to push out new ones? Apart from the crispyness at the bottom, your baby seems to be thriving! πŸ™ŒπŸ½

I had to recently remove a few of the leaves from mine (bottom leaves) because it’s actually growing rather fast lol

Mine are funny actually. I used to do a weekly dunk and they were okay, but not happy. I started misting twice a week and now they’re thriving. Maybe yours are not liking the daily misting? πŸ€”
Hi guys thanks! The brown leaves and tips are definitely crispy so it’s not overwatering. And I do let them air dry upside down for at least a few hours.
Oh! And mine have never flowered. πŸŒ±β˜€οΈβ€οΈ
I just picked up some fertilizer over the weekend because my airplants definitely get dry quickly despite me spraying daily and giving them a good soak regularly. I blame radiator heat.. you may want to look into airplant fertilizer. It’s a spay and very easy to use.
@Superkma75 thanks! I actually have had some sitting in my Etsy cart for a while πŸ€ͺ I’ll get on that soon! πŸŒ±β˜€οΈβ€οΈ
