Hi Kristen, I have a dwarf banana- have never done the water prop. I can tell you these guys are pretty resilient. We had a ton of rain last year and it got so wet, and by the time the rain stopped- I thought she was dead. I put her in the back and forgot about her. A year later I went out back- and there she was- standing 3 feet tall and beautiful!! I do know it can take a few weeks for roots to show in water. Im sorry im not much help ☺️
@SillyPlantGirl thank you! I've recently started this hobby and a dwarf banana is new to me! The woman who gave her to me said they're resilient, I'm just super anxious. She's on my piano in water and prop drops for now, I can pot her and keep her outside tomorrow. Michigan with the humidity right now seems ideal for a tropical baby!
