How to replant fern

#KangarooPaw hello Greg community! I am wondering if I should or need to replant this fern. I absolutely love its wild shape but am not sure if I’m harming it keeping it in this pot. If I do repot, do I leave the aerial roots out? Can I divide the plant so I can keep it in this size pot? This is probably my favorite plant of them all (it’s so easy and eye catching!) so I would be devastated if I hurt it. Thanks in advance!

@BusyPepino49 Hi Mary! I love the way your fern looks as well! So pretty! It looks like it is in a tiny pot? I can’t even see it! Does it have crazy roots? Are they growing around the top of the pot it is planted in? Does it accept water well? Or does it just pour out the bottom when you water it without really soaking the soil good, if any of those things are happening I would repot it! Ferns, as I am sure you are aware, love to be misted a couple times a day. I always leave the roots floating around just like they were before and I wouldn’t recommend separating it! It might not like that, Ferns are a picky thing! I have a Maidens Hair that I mist before I leave for work and when I get home as well. All ferns love humidity so if you aren’t doing that it would be good to add that step to your process and it is always a good idea to replant your plants into a pot about 1-2” larger every 1-3 years depending on the plant, and I can’t even see the pot in the plant at all so just for good measure, I would give it a new home and mist it a couple of times a day but make sure it dries out between waterings and I am sure it would make it happier, not mad! Keep us posted and Good Luck!πŸͺ΄πŸŒΌ
