Brown base

Not sure what's happening with my plant, I took him out to reply him and trim root rot, his base is turning brown. What does that mean? Is it normal?
10ft to light, indirect
3โ€ pot with drainage
Last watered 6 days ago
Well, fixing root rot does involve more than a trim. U need to make sure the root system left is healthy, white & sufficient. Wash the soil using castile soap, remember to do same w/the pot & use new soil to repot (if for some rwason u cannot, make sure u rinse the soil as well & place on cookie shee to dry. (u can always warm to dry in low oven setting but i dont recommend it unless u have an affimity for horrible odors). Once all that is done, repot ur clean rooted plant & make sure u check dryness before u begin ur watering routine. Greg makes suggestions but its up to u to water or snooze. I use metal chopstick & when it comes out clean, i water ;just like toothpick checks cake doneness). If u r at all not certain, give it another day. Plants respond much better to underwatering than overwatering. Good luck!!
