@plantLadyoJxx Oh nooo, poor baby looks like sheβs going through a lot but donβt worry β¦..she can totally bounce backβ¦.. The white powdery stuff? Thatβs likely powdery mildew or spider mites. Both love dry air and dusty leaves. Step 1: Give her a gentle shower rinse the leaves top and bottom with lukewarm water to knock off pests. Step 2: Follow up with a neem oil or insecticidal soap spray (every 5β7 days). Always test on one leaf first!
Step 3: Trim off any crispy or damaged leaves β¦sheβll focus energy on fresh growthβ¦.Sheβll need bright indirect light, good air circulation, and no soggy soil dramaβ¦.Bonus tip: Roses like a lil breeze! It helps fight fungus and pests.Fun fact: China Roses are repeat bloomers, meaning once she recovers, sheβll reward you with another round of glowup. Youβre basically her plant therapist nowβ¦.Youβre doing amazing she just needs some TLC and a little plant rehab moment. Sheβs not done blooming yet :)

Is there a particular brand of Neem oil you would recommend?

@plantLadyoJxx For neem oil, I recommend Bonide Neem Oil or Garden Safe Neem Oil Extract both are gentle but effective, and plant safe when diluted properly. Excited to hear how your rose queen bounces back! Keep us posted in coming days
@plantLadyoJxx your welcome
@JungleDreamer
Thank you so much.
I live in the UK and I don't think I'm able to purchase that brand of Neem oil. Hopefully I can shop around and find something very similar

@plantLadyoJxx ahhh Totally get it! If Bonide or Garden Safe arenβt in reach, look for cold-pressed neem oil that says 100% pure or for horticultural use.Just dilute with water and a drop of dish soap, and boomspa day for your plant Canβt wait to see your rose queen bounce back like the main character she is!

I took your advice and cleaned up all the leaves and trimmed the crispy damaged ones (unfortunately this was a lot of them)
I've also ordered some Neem oil so fingers crossed she should be on the mend β¨πΉ

@plantLadyoJxx Yesss Justine!! Thatβs some plant parent MVP energy right there! Cleanup crew, neem oil incoming, and sheβs already giving comeback queen vibes with that bold red bloom Sheβs not just survivingβ¦.sheβs plotting her redemption arc. Keep us posted, I feel like sheβs about to slay π«Ά

Hi just a plant update πΉ she's still looking quite sad, and a lot of the leaves have fallen off π₯Ή is there much else I can do for her?

@plantLadyoJxx p@plantLadyoJxx Ohh Justine, hang in there she may look a little like a post-apocalyptic twig right now, but thatβs not the end of her story The fact that you still have green stems and a bloom means sheβs not giving up and neither are we.
Hereβs your next tier rescue planβ¦. Cut her back to healthy nodes. Itβs scary, I know but sheβs putting too much energy into surviving on half dead leaves. A good chop triggers fresh growth. β¦Let the soil almost dry out before watering again. China Roses hate soggy soil, but dry roots wonβt help either. Sheβs high-maintenance like that β¦. She needs at least 5β6 hours of direct light to bounce back strong by a sunny window or even outside if temps allow. No drafts, no dim corners. Keep misting neem oil every 5β7 days especially under the leaves. Wipe them with a damp cloth if neededβ¦. Once new growth shows, hit her with a diluted balanced fertilizer (like a 10-10-10 or rose food) every couple weeks. Go easy too much too soon = drama. Roses LOVE airflow! If sheβs indoors, crack a window or place a fan nearby (on low). Keeps pests out β¦. Sheβs basically in her plant ICU recovery mode, but honestlyβroses are drama queens and warriors. They die back, sulk, then show up months later with a Did you miss me? bloom. Keep being her ride-or-dieβ¦.. Sheβs not done with her story yet.
