#CurryTree

I got a curry plant through mail order about a week ago. Some leaves were covered in faint white residues and thought must be dirt or something. It’s now shedding all leaves of lower stems and does not look very happy. Anything I can do to help the plant adjust? We are in New England and keeping him indoors under skylight.
7ft to light, direct
6” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
The white residues are probably mineral residue or some sort of liquid fertilizer burn sprayed on it when living at its old home. You should also look up β€œcitrus Hindu mite” and make sure none of the spots look like that. If it is mite damage, keep it isolated until you eradicate them. My calamansi came with a terrible case of citrus rust mites (and mealy bugs), so while I was nursing it to health I removed the worst-affected leaves in batches (maybe 1/3 of the worst leaves at first and then a few of the worst-looking leaves every week or two, careful to not touch healthy parts of plant after touching diseased parts until I’d washed my hands) to get the infected leaves away from the rest of the plant. I did it in stages because virtually every leaf was infected, so I needed to have some leaves that could photosynthesize and fuel healthy new growth. It would put out a flush of growth in response to losing a batch of leaves. I also used a spray called mighty mint plant protection.
